EATING HEALTHY WITH ALKALINE FOODS

 A diet high in alkaline foods would well to improve the health of most of the people in North America. If people would only switch over to a diet of 50 - 80% veggies and fruits, we could greatly decrease the cases of diabetes, heart disease and many cancers. Today's popular diet of high meat, dairy and refined wheat consumption is not even close to being called healthy by any medical expert. Yet nearly all doctors will say more veggies and fruit should be added to your daily diet to improve overall health.


 Eating a diet high in alkaline plant food will give lots of the nourishment you need without the unneeded calories. A high nutrient/restricted calorie diet has been linked to antiaging. A great deal of these unwanted calories are found in processed foods such as refined wheat flour and refined sugar. Increasing your consumption of 100% whole grain foods will give you fiber that you need and help to efficiently deal with extra calories. Avoid refined sugar by eating more whole fruits everyday.


 A great deal of the meat and dairy that the western world consumes everyday is unnecessary as it really contributes very little to our nutritional needs. These acid foods contribute heavily to our consumption of saturated fat, which may be the main cause of heart disease. The fats that should be consumed the most are the ones that contain Omega-3 fatty acids. Animal products should be limited as the human body works best when fed a high plant food diet. BEAT DIABETES WITH A PH BALANCED DIET

 You can be in much better health if you ate a high alkaline foods diet. Balancing your PH can be easy as simply adding more veggies and fruits to your diet. I seem to get a lot of emails that argue the point of PH balancing and if it leads to better health. Well, these people are just looking for someone to debate with and i don't give them much thought. They are looking for reasons to indulge in their favorite acidic foods. I never said that you cannot eat acidic foods, just that the majority of your daily food intake should be alkaline foods.
 How can someone not want to take part in an eating style that maximizes your health? Eating a diet high in veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds is recommended by doctors all over the world and has been proven to lower the risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and many cancers. If you can make these foods 50-75% of your daily diet, you will lose drop pounds and give your body the nutrition that it needs to keep your immune system strong.

This does not mean you can't eat your favorites everyday! You can still eat about 30% of your diet as acid foods. That leaves you room for some of the meat, grains and dairy products that you grew up eating. Just keep your diet high in alkaline foods and you will achieve optimal health. EATING PLANT FOODS FOR GOOD HEALTH

To get the most out of the foods we eat especially plant foods, it is to our advantage to eat them raw whenever we can. It is natural for our digestive system to eat a high alkaline diet and our phsiology in general to consume plant food in its raw state to get the full benefits of the phytochemicals found in plant based foods. These "bio-chemicals" give our bodies the boost that it needs to keep our immune system running at full capacity and it is easier to digest. This is probably the way that nature intended for us to eat our food but we discovered thousands of years ago that cooking our food made it easier to chew and in some cases it made the food taste better.
Try consuming roughly 50-70% of your plant food in its raw state for about 2 weeks and see if you notice any change in your health. This may not be long enough to see major changes but i tend to notice that i feel light on my feet and very energetic when i eat a diet high in raw veggies and fruits. I don't go overboard on my plant based as i like to indulge occasionally on treats such as ice cream and chocolate. I still believe in enjoying life. EATING-VEGGIES.COM

EATING HIGH ALKALINE FOODS AND GARLIC

I watched a show last night on Discovery health. It was hosted by Dr. Mehmet Oz of "Oprah" fame. It was a wake up call to all men of middle age and poor health. You know who you are. It was just more evidence that a high alkaline, raw food diet is just what we need to keep our health at optimal levels. The people who ate the raw fruits, nuts and veggies for 12 days were very motivating for me as i do have my points of weakness. My wife told me that she thinks i should swear off of meat for good. She has been vegetarian for a while now. This too was motivating for me as i have been dealing with a KFC fried chicken fantasy for a couple of days now. The impact that 12 days of alkaline raw eating had made on these people's health was amazing. I just need to work on my consistency.


Another section of the show that was a motivating factor was the erectile dysfunction story. I already eat lots of raw garlic almost everyday so their remedy was nothing new to me but as a male approaching the Viagra years of my life, it is never too soon to do better everyday. The men in the show ate 6 cloves of raw garlic everyday for a couple of months without changing their diet and most were able to maintain an erection after the experiment was finished. There is a controversy as to how much good garlic does for removing bad cholesterol from the cariovascular system but it could't hurt. HIGH ALKALINE DIET HELPS ELIMINATE OBESITY

 Obesity in America is at an all-time high according to research released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Just look around, the evidence is everywhere! Almost 70% of the country is overweight and the numbers are rising. The number of fat kids walking the malls is increasing at an alarming rate. Fat parents teaching their fat children how to eat in the same disgusting way that they have learned to eat means that this problem is not going away any time soon.

 Betwen the poor excuse that they call school "lunch" and the processed stuff that they eat at home, most kids are destined to be overweight and diabetic. Exercise and a lot of veggies is one sure way to beat this and should be part of your children's daily activity. For that matter, the parents of these kids should consider doing things outdoors with their children several days a week. Make exercise a family event and beat obesity and diabetes.  Aside from  the ever present high blood pressure problem, diabetes seems to be the curse that ravages the north American population. It is common (especially in the African American community) to see someone in a wheelchair with a lower leg amputated due to diabetes. There are millions of people walking the street right now who don't have a clue that they have developed diabetes and will allow the problem to get worse due to lack of knowledge and the "that can't happen to me" attitude. I guess the constant bombardment of advertising selling refined starches, hyper-sweetened food products and alcohol is making a lot of money for the Big Medicine companies at the expense of the lives of the American people.

 Eating a diet high in alkaline foods will help keep your blood sugar levels lower due to the fact that these foods are low glycemic and very nutritious. Besides providing your body with minerals and phytonutrients, these foods will encourage your body to burn your own body fat as fuel. Remember to eat over half your daily food intake in the form of alkaline foods to fight disease, viruses and obesity. You will feel much more energy and move lighter on your feet as your body begins to return to its natural state of existence.


 The human body works most efficiently in state of low blood sugar. Not so low that you pass out, just enough carbohydrates as you need to burn as energy over the course of the day. Try spreading your meals out as several small meals instead of gorging on food once or twice a day. We cannot expect to keep our health at its best when we continue to wolf down deep-fried potatoes, doughnuts and sugar-laden breakfast cereals while washing down fast food lunches with 32 oz soft drinks. The effect that all those refined starches and sugars have on your cardiovascular system compile over time and the damage is hard to reverse. The answer is to slow the damage NOW by cutting WAY back on those high sugar drinks and eating wheat products that are 100% WHOLE wheat (or 100% whole grain). STRUGGLING WITH YOUR HIGH ALKALINE FOODS DIET

 As a young man growing up in the deep south, eating foods that are considered unhealthy is sort of a fact of life. I mean, we deep fry everything in the south: okra, catfish, whole turkeys, Twinkies, snicker bars and pretty much any animal that can't crawl fast enough and hide. Fried chicken with mac and cheese is a favorite of mine and it's flavor is embedded deep in my psyche. This presents problems for me as i continue this ongoing project of overhauling my diet in favor of a much healthier foods.

 Focusing on eating foods that have an alkaline pH is one of the best ways to optimize your diet and melt away body fat. It seems that all of the "sin" foods are acid in nature, which is fine if you indulge occasionally. I guess that's my point: if you eat a diet of 50-80% alkaline foods, you can eat a few sinful delights everyday! So once or twice a month i can eat my fried chicken dinner or take my daughter to the local ice cream shop and share a banana split. But the satisfying feeling of knowing that i had a few pieces of fruit for breakfast and a large salad full of alkaline vegetables and fruit for lunch or a plate full of veggies for dinner makes me feel even better.  If you are of African or Hispanic descent then you have to take the sodium issue more seriously than what you already do. With the microwave oven now a couple of generations old, many people feel that frozen foods is the way to prepare a meal. Most frozen food dinners are loaded with half the sodium that is recommended for an entire day. With everyone in such a rush for time, it may seem logical to work these time-savers into your schedule but at what risk. Your families health has to mean more. 

 Take time to cook your own meals at home using spices and whole foods. Your family will appreciate a home cooked meal without the health risks of fast food. TEEN OBESITY LEADS TO EARLY FEMALE PUBERTY

 I wish i could quote you the exact study that this information comes from but i heard it while watching one of the local morning shows (FOX 5, Good Day Atlanta!). There is a direct link to teen obesity and early puberty among girls in America. African-American girls seem to suffer far worse while whites and Hispanics lagged behind.

 There seems to be a problem with the diet of these teens that is throwing their body out of hormonal balance and the problem may begin with what kids are eating at home. Learning proper eating habits in respect to your own health is not being taught anymore as many parents were feed the same garbage while growing up. It is just to easy to toss something into the microwave and have a highly processed starch and high sodium meals in minutes.

 Replacing these fiberless, high sodium foods with an abundance of alkaline fruits and veggies is the most effective way of optimizing health and drop extra pounds without going on some kind of extreme diet. OVERWEIGHT TEENS COULD BENEFIT FROM HIGH ALKALINE DIET

 I was at the local high school enrolling my daughter when i couldn't help but notice the size of the teen girls walking the hallway. I mean these girls were FAT! Of course this didn't apply to all the girls but definitely MOST of them. And there were more fat girls thean there were fat boys, which says to me that there is a diet AND exercise problem among teen girls. This is the starting point of future Diabetes problems.

 We need to find a way to begin educating our youth of the future problems that will arise if they continue eat the way they presently do. I don't mean more goverment programs. The private sector, meaning BIG Business has a responsibility here as do churches and any good parents who want the best for their children. Refined starches are keeping our kids fat and we are raising future diabetes patients. It is time to become accountable for this epidemic.

 Eating whole foods such as veggies and fruits is the foundation of any good, healthy diet and is an effective way to fight diabetes, heart disease, cancer and obesity. Teaching the health benefits of eating 50-80% of our diet in the form of alkaline foods can help turn this problem around immediately. We cannot assume that our children will learn to eat correctly on their own or that other parents will teach their kids.  For some odd reason people are upset over the following story. The Qnexa diet pill that would help people with weight loss and obesity will not be approved (as of now) by the FDA. Federal health experts were concerned with side effects for the diet weight loss pill. These safety concerns include memory lapses, suicidal thoughts, heart palpitations and birth defects. These risk do not appear to me to be a good reason to take a synthetic drug when you can just make better food choices, like eating an apple as opposed to a slice of cake.


 It was found that the drug helps patients lose pounds, with most reporting more than 10 percent weight loss. Removing the refined starches from your diet could do the same thing but then Big Business wouldn't be able to make billions of dollars.

 Eating a diet of 50-80% alkaline foods is a most effective way to lose weight without subjecting yourself to the risks of taking prescription drugs. As a former 300 pound man, i can personally testify to the effectiveness of eating an abundance of plant foods and the results that it will have on your waistline.
