High Fat Diet Causes Diabetes

 I started eating a low fat vegan diet about 3 months ago as a way to control my blood sugar levels. A doctor by the name of Neal Barnard wrote a book several years ago claiming that diabetes was caused by a high fat diet and not by over consuming carbohydrates. He claims that eating a low fat vegan diet for as little as 3 weeks would begin reversing blood sugar levels of most type 2 diabetics. Supposedly droplets of fat corrupt the cells ability to respond properly to insulin thus creating a "metabolic" problem better known as diabetes.

 Well I tried it and it worked wonders. I lost weight and inches and best of all my A1C glucose numbers fell to 5.8 (a new low for me). I had always had a slow metabolism and my doctors always said that it could not be reversed. Well they were wrong and i feel the best i have felt in some time. I can't imagine what another 6 months of eating a low fat vegan diet is going to do to my body. Reverse diabetes and obesity with alkaline foods

Struggling with your Alkaline diet

 Dealing with a new eating style can be frustrating at the start. The importance of getting through the first 15-30 days is critical as your body goes through physical and psychological changes. Ask anyone with a successful dieting experience and they will tell you about the challenges staying consistent until your mind gets in the groove of wanting nutrition and not extra calories. Your mind is your biggest obstacle during this time and it can be controlled if you stay determined.

 To stay lean, healthy and disease-free, you must eat a pH balanced diet everyday. Do your best to eat 50-80% of your food intake in the form of alkaline foods and you will begin to feel full of energy! Alkaline foods are mostly vegeteables and fruit. There are veggies and fruits that are not alkaline and can be eaten in moderation.  These are some of  my favorite supplements to take for my personal use. They are not the only supplements that i use, they're just at the top of my list of what i need to take consistently. Eating a high alkaline food diet everyday takes care of many of my nutritional needs. Its just a matter of eating a wide variety of veggies and fruits throughout the day. I shoot for 60-80% alkaline food daily which leaves me plenty of room for the acid foods i like to eat. 
 Turmeric is already well known as a dietary "must have" supplement. But here is what a lot of people don't know. Scientists tested turmeric, a concentrated source of the phytonutrient curcumin, along with phenethyl isothiocyanates, a phytochemical abundant in cruciferous vegetables including broccoli. When tested separately, both phenethyl isothiocyanate and curcumin greatly slowed the growth of human prostate cancer cells implanted in immune-deficient mice. In mice with well-established prostate cancer tumors, neither phenethyl isothiocyanate nor curcumin alone had a protective effect, but when combined, they greatly reduced both tumor growth and the ability of the prostate cancer cells to spread in the test animals. With these kind of cancer fighting abilites, it just seems like these foods are something i need to consume regularly.

I also recommend taking a capsule of Bioperene with your Turmeric. It is a black pepper extract that increases absorption of Turmeric 400%. And DO NOT be afraid to go heavy on the raw garlic. Add it liberally to your cooking to help remove bad cholesterol (LDL) from your body and raise your good cholesterol (HDL).

 Fish oil is something that everyone should already be taking. The multitude of postives has been printed everywhere, there isn't anything else to say. Eating more fish is what we need to concentrate on doing as opposed to taking fish oil supplements. Cooking and eating fish that is well seasoned is becoming a standard at my house but we won't eat it fried. Baked lemon-pepper Talapia is a favorite as is Salmon with garlic butter. EATING HEALTHY WITH ALKALINE FOODS

 A diet high in alkaline foods would well to improve the health of most of the people in North America. If people would only switch over to a diet of 50 - 80% veggies and fruits, we could greatly decrease the cases of diabetes, heart disease and many cancers. Today's popular diet of high meat, dairy and refined wheat consumption is not even close to being called healthy by any medical expert. Yet nearly all doctors will say more veggies and fruit should be added to your daily diet to improve overall health.


 Eating a diet high in alkaline plant food will give lots of the nourishment you need without the unneeded calories. A high nutrient/restricted calorie diet has been linked to antiaging. A great deal of these unwanted calories are found in processed foods such as refined wheat flour and refined sugar. Increasing your consumption of 100% whole grain foods will give you fiber that you need and help to efficiently deal with extra calories. Avoid refined sugar by eating more whole fruits everyday.


 A great deal of the meat and dairy that the western world consumes everyday is unnecessary as it really contributes very little to our nutritional needs. These acid foods contribute heavily to our consumption of saturated fat, which may be the main cause of heart disease. The fats that should be consumed the most are the ones that contain Omega-3 fatty acids. Animal products should be limited as the human body works best when fed a high plant food diet. BEAT DIABETES WITH A PH BALANCED DIET

 You can be in much better health if you ate a high alkaline foods diet. Balancing your PH can be easy as simply adding more veggies and fruits to your diet. I seem to get a lot of emails that argue the point of PH balancing and if it leads to better health. Well, these people are just looking for someone to debate with and i don't give them much thought. They are looking for reasons to indulge in their favorite acidic foods. I never said that you cannot eat acidic foods, just that the majority of your daily food intake should be alkaline foods.
 How can someone not want to take part in an eating style that maximizes your health? Eating a diet high in veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds is recommended by doctors all over the world and has been proven to lower the risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and many cancers. If you can make these foods 50-75% of your daily diet, you will lose drop pounds and give your body the nutrition that it needs to keep your immune system strong.

This does not mean you can't eat your favorites everyday! You can still eat about 30% of your diet as acid foods. That leaves you room for some of the meat, grains and dairy products that you grew up eating. Just keep your diet high in alkaline foods and you will achieve optimal health.
